Detailed Description
Please enjoy your self-study of Lessons 21 - 25 of the yet to be published textbook བོད་སྐད་སྙིང་པོ། The Heart of Tibetan Language Vol. 3 with these materials. You may also use them to prepare for the Upper Advanced Online Course (Tib. 302) starting in January 2026.
Lessons 21 - 25 of the yet to be published textbook བོད་སྐད་སྙིང་པོ།, Volume 3 offer comprehensive grammar explanations of various topics: You’ll learn more about temporal connectives of simultaneity (སྐབས།, དུས།, རིང་།, etc.) and sequence (པའི་རྗེས་ལ།, གོང་ལ།, etc), nominalisers such as སྟངས།, སྲོལ། and ཚུལ། as well as བྱ་ཚིག་གཉིས་པ། such as ཆོག་པ།, སྲིད་པ།, རན་པ།, རྩིས་པ།, etc. There are also explanations and practice opportunities of Dharma vocabulary around various basic Buddhist topics, such as སངས་རྒྱས་ཤཱཀྱ་ཐུབ་པའི་རྣམ་ཐར་གྱི་སྐོར།, ཆོས་ཀྱི་འཁོར་ལོ་རིམ་པ་གསུམ།, དམ་པའི་ཆོས་ཉན་ཚུལ་གྱི་སྐོར།, etc. Lastly, a brief explanation on the root verses of the ལེགས་བཤད་ལྗོན་དབང་།, the famous commentary of the སུམ་ཅུ་པ། is also part of each webinar.
The latest and revised draft of the respective Lessons of Volume 3 are also part of this access to the videos. Sample for textbook and exercise book.
The setting of the Lower Advanced Course webinars is an interactive live class on Zoom with our dear non-human classmates - a nerdy polyglot, Ms. Giraffe; a devoted, Ms. Ostrich; a peace-loving elderly monastic, Venerable Thubten Turtle; and Mr. Black Sheep, a half-Tibetan. With their particular learning styles, they ask all kinds of engaging questions.
Given they are now at an advanced level, they ask all their questions in བོད་སྐད་རྐྱང་རྐྱང་། and also have quite extensive and engaging conversations with each other between the questions - in བོད་སྐད། too of course. Their questions are displayed in the Zoom chat to facilitate your learning and are read by our native speaker colleague, རྒན་ལྷག་པ་ཚེ་རིང་ལགས།.
A translation of those questions and conversations is provided for your gradual learning. Also the དཀར་པང་། (lesson plan) which is being used during the webinar is available for you to refer and go back to.
Their questions range from learning some བོད་ཡིག grammar based on the verses of the famous ལེགས་བཤད་ལྗོན་དབང་།, over questions about subtle grammar point, to practice requests, interactive learning games and Dharma terminology practice.
Here is a preview of a question from one of our lessons.

Important side-note
These carefully developed Tibetan language materials serve as a supplement to your main learning journey. As creative and thorough as they are, they can not substitute communication skills and insights into the language that one gains when participating in a Tibetan language course, engaging with a study community or native speaker tutor. It is because learning a language, especially a spoken one, is a social undertaking, and mastering a language alone is nearly impossible. That's why we strongly encourage you to enroll into a Tibetan language course or find fellow companions who also study Tibetan language to form a small study group together.
